The Ukrainian scientists receive the first detailed pictures of atoms

Detailed maps of atoms which will be soon published in log Physical Review B, have been received by the Ukrainian scientists from the Kharkov institute of physics and engineering.
It is the first case when scientists could observe directly internal structure of atoms. Before, since 1980th years only mathematical modelling of private world of these particles was accessible.
In a picture well considerably for a long time the true installed in a quantum mechanics that electrons behave not as dot particles, and is faster as the electronic cloud blurred in space.
For reception of maps scientists used a field electronic microscope (field-emission electron microscope). In the vacuum camera in one number 10 atoms of carbon through which have been installed bit with power of 425 volt was skipped. Thus the last atom in a chain let out electrons on the phosphoric screen on which the map of an electronic cloud in atom was formed.
